Uruthira Pasupathi Nayanar Gurupoojai was being celebrated for the past 23 years from 1988 at Thiruthalayur by thiru R.Sambanda Moorthy (9486382348) life time dedicated Thondar. Thiruthalayur is situated between Kollumangudi and Karaikkal in Nannilam division in Thiruvarur District. This year also nayanar gurupoojai was celebrated with abishekam and floral decorations to nayanar. Rudra japam was also conducted followed by annadhanam. This was done by the trustee.
In the evening, there was a procession of nayanar and Tirumurai with nadhaswaram, lectures and competitions for students. Members of Uzhavaram Gowrimayurnathar sivanadiyar thirukootam, Mayiladuthurai Punugeeswarar sivanadiyar thiru kootam, Koranad and Margasahayar vazhipaatu manram, Moovalur participated.
Thiru Sambanthamoorthy helped financially for giving electric connection to the temple. He worked jointly with the local people for the renovation of the temple in the year 2010.
